Who Is Brandon McManus?

Brandon McManus

First, Brandon McManus is a pro football kicker. The picture or video of him doing a game is what you have seen; he is scoring the team’s field goals by passing the big yellow posts. He was with the Denver Broncos (2014-2022) for almost ten years, and after that, he became a Jacksonville Jaguars player in 2023. He also moved to the Washington Commanders in 2024 after a very brief time at the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, he is still going to be a Packers player as of October 2024, and thus Green Bay Packers are his team.

Quite a remarkable career up to now. However, a legal case made its way into the story, and that was the turning point.

What Happened Exactly?

It was on a team flight to London that the Jacksonville Jaguars flew in September 2023 when the whole thing came about. Apparently, this is when the events changed their existence.

Daisy Torres and Nicole Anderson, two flight attendants, say that McManus was very drunk on the plane. They accuse him of acting out, touching one of them intimately, trying to kiss in the midst of the shaking of the plane, and rubbing not only once but twice during the meal service.

Things didn’t end there, either. Besides that, the women reported that McManus was distributing $100 bills and attempting to persuade other crew members to drink and dance during the flight. They say that because of these events, their day at work, which would have probably been normal, changed to a very upsetting and degrading type of situation. Moreover, the two of them, after filing their complaint, were taken off the Jaguars’ flight crew list.

When Did This Go to Court?

On May 28, 2024, the legal complaint was filed in court. However, the suit was not only directed at McManus, but the Jags were also sued. The allegation? The organization abandoned its workers by not taking action against the harassment. The plaintiffs were demanding in about $1 million in damages and were requesting a jury trial.

At first, the two women had gone by the names of the anonymous complainants, which is a usual procedure in delicate cases, but on September 3, 2024, the judge refused the case, arguing that in Florida, there was a need to show a sufficient reason for using an anonymous account. The court couldn’t go any further without it. Nevertheless, the judge permitted them to resubmit the application, which they did the following day with their names disclosed.

What Did McManus Say?

Not much. Publicly, McManus has only used one word: “resolved.”

Upon inquiry whether the lawsuit was terminated or resolved, he chose not to expand. His lawyers stated that the problem is behind us, but refrained from giving more information. At the same time, they released a statement saying that they were completely innocent and that the claims were groundless. In addition, the attorney inverted the spotlight onto the cabin crew by insinuating that they were breaking the code of conduct and sharing inappropriate material.

The case is “resolved,” as per the official position, but the manner of resolution is still not known to us.
